Adult Scholarships
Scholarships are available for introductory and higher-level classes in our adult programs, including Improv 101 - 401 and Memberships. Scholarships are not available for individual Drop In classes. All recipients are also eligible to receive assistance with financial planning for future coursework. Please note there is a limit to how many scholarships a student may be awarded for the same program. S Scholarships are offered in varying amounts depending on the context of the applicant pool/total need.
If you need any accommodations to complete the scholarship application, please email info@thisisimprov.com. We want to ensure that all interested candidates may apply! Current This Is Improv students are welcome to apply, as are new students who have not previously taken a This Is Improv class. Applicants must be 19 or older and demonstrate financial need.
Scholarships will be reviewed by the This Is Improv and This Is Life Unscripted team and awarded based on:
-
Financial need including employment and context of income
-
Availability of your preferred class
-
Class level within the context of current enrollment demand (secondary factor)
-
Previous awards received – While we wish that we could grant an award to each student, repeat scholarships are not guaranteed
-
Expressed a desire for your art education. (Please be honest in your response. Let us know why this scholarship would be important for you)
Things to note:
Please answer all questions as best as possible. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please tell us only relevant information. Please be as professional and courteous as possible. It is ill-advised to try out jokes or feel you have to audition in your application. Often jokes do not translate well in applications. No pressure to be funny. Please share why you want to attend This Is Improv, your financial need, and what you would like to do with what you may learn here. Thank you.
Applications are taken on a rolling basis. Please expect to receive a response regarding your application within two weeks of submission. Please note that you will need to apply for each course and level you wish to take.
Equal Opportunity Statement: This Is Improv fully believes in equal opportunity and access to education and scholarships for every individual who has a desire to learn, regardless of race, gender, gender identity and expression, or disability status.
